Role Description:

Lead the Building Trades Pathway at Vista by teaching the following:

  • Building Trades Design Class (Exploration-Based Programming)
  • Building Trades Local Certification Program
  • A la carte Building Trades Certification Programs
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

    • Expertise and experience in the building trades industry with a strong desire to teach and mentor students in this career path

    • Creates, selects, adapts, and uses a variety of instructional resources to facilitate student attainment of performance standards
    • Uses a variety of assessments to provide evidence of student proficiency toward the content standards
    • Creates a stimulating, well organized, and safe learning environment
  • Demonstrate a commitment to:
    • Understand, appreciate, and make accommodations for student diversity
    • Include and engage families in the students’ education

Education and Experience
  • Colorado Teaching Certificate required
  • Math content area certification strongly desired
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required, master’s degree preferred
  • CTE (Career Tech Education) certification strongly preferred
  • Certification in secondary mathematics strongly preferred
  • Experience working with at-risk students required

Compensation Range: Based on years of experience and education as outlined by Vista Charter School’s Certified Salary Schedule
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours per week with flexible schedule option for the right candidate
Hours Per Day: 7.5 with a remote option for the right candidate
Number of Days per Year: 178
